Yasmin Napper Admits She Feels More Comfortable Wearing a Hijab in Soap Operas, Here’s Why

Yasmin Napper's appearance in the soap opera Istiqomah Cinta has captured public attention because she appears covered in a hijab. It turns out that portraying a hijab-wearing character is not new for the former girlfriend of Giorgino Abraham.

This latest project from SCTV marks the fourth time Yasmin has taken on a role as a Muslim woman who covers her aurat. Instead of feeling challenged, Yasmin actually feels very comfortable with her appearance.

She revealed that shooting while wearing a hijab provides specific benefits for her hair health. She no longer has to deal with hot styling tools every time she starts filming.

"This is my fourth project wearing a hijab, so I think I'm quite okay with shooting in a hijab. In fact, I find it more comfortable to wear a hijab because I don’t have to straighten my hair every day, so my hair doesn’t get damaged," explained Yasmin Napper during a virtual press conference on Friday (12/2/2026).

Besides hair health issues, Yasmin also experiences incredible time efficiency while in the makeup room. She can save preparation time in the morning because the process of styling the hijab is much quicker compared to having to style her long hair. This makes her feel more ready to start her busy shooting activities.

"Morning preparations are much quicker because in the morning I just need to do my makeup, put on my hijab, and I'm done," she said.

This comfort really helps her maintain her mood while on set, especially when facing heavy scenes.

Yasmin feels helped because she doesn't have to worry about her hairstyle getting messy during outdoor scenes or when getting wet.

"Whereas if I don't wear a hijab, then if there’s a scene with rain, getting wet, drying my hair first, straightening it, it takes a lot of time," she said.
