YouTuber Raymond Chin Makes an Open Message to Elected President Prabowo Subianto

Raymond began his video with an expression of sadness that many of his friends want to leave Indonesian citizenship to seek a more decent life. Through his video, he also stated, “I am just an ordinary citizen who has an extraordinary love for Indonesia, and I hope that the opinions conveyed can be one of the considerations for the progress of the country.”

There is a glimmer of hope for Indonesia's progress in Raymond's words. Raymond also stated the values he believes in, namely that a broken country is a fault of the government.

This is seen from the declining democracy index and the worsening anti-corruption index. In his video, he emphasized that the vision and mission stated must be accompanied by good execution. As Mr. Prabowo has previously expressed, the values of meritocracy, anti-corruption, and anti-collusion should not just be “empty slogans.”

The idea of the mega project IKN according to Raymond can conceptually solve problems in Jakarta because it promotes sustainability. However, unfortunately, the amount of unrealized investment coupled with immature infrastructure is a setback.

Raymond also mentioned that there is still much to improve in Mr. Jokowi's leadership, such as the difficulty in reducing the poverty rate. There is hope for Mr. Prabowo, who is also known as the "iron fist," that he will not just engage in "cake-sharing" or indebtedness merely to form a new cabinet.

Since the President has the prerogative right to choose his ministers without interference, his decisions are beyond challenge from any of the supporting political parties. As citizens, it is important to provide criticism and evaluation so that we do not just become obedient citizens, especially to the point of apathy.

It is hoped that the public will remain critical of the government and not blind to failed policies. Raymond closed his video with a great hope that the Golden Indonesia will truly be realized because Raymond loves this country and wants Indonesia to progress, hoping that the values promoted by Prabowo as a figure known to be pro-people are not just mere "empty promises."
