"Yura's version of 'Lihatlah Lebih Dekat' is a gift for the 23rd anniversary of Petualangan Sherina," said Yura Yunita in a video.
Every time Yura Yunita listens to this song, she remembers the beautiful moments she had with her childhood friends.
"When I finally remade this song, it felt like a flashback to the year 2001. It brought me back to the moments of saying goodbye to my friends during my elementary and junior high school years. That's what it meant back then," said Yura Yunita.
But now, when remaking the song, Yura Yunita found a deep meaning and taught herself to be wiser in living life.
"But now, when singing this song again, it feels like the message is clear that whatever happens in life, when we learn to look closer, we can be wiser in understanding the meaning and purpose of life itself," she said.
This was also acknowledged by the original singer Sherina. She felt that the song created by the late Elfa Secioria and Mira Lesmana had a deep meaning for children and adults alike. Sherina was also happy that Yura Yunita could bring the song back to life.
"Seeing how 'Lihatlah Lebih Dekat' is being brought back, the strength of this song is something timeless. People of all ages, from young children to adults, can find meaning in this song," Sherina said.
