Kapanlagi.com - The vocalist of the music group Zivilia, Zul Zivilia, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for drug-related charges by the North Jakarta District Court. Automatically, while Zul is in custody, Retno Paradinah, Zul's wife, is forced to be the backbone of the family to support their children at home.

Retno said that after her husband was detained, she started selling clothes. Not only that, Retno also works as a make-up artist (MUA).

"Nowadays, I have a clothing business, and I also work as an MUA. So, Alhamdulillah, the income comes from there, and if there is a shortage, I ask for help from relatives, parents, and so on," said Retno Paradinah when contacted on Sunday (7/3/2021).

1. The Most Sad Thing

Every day, Retno Paradinah lives with her children after her husband had problems with the law. What makes Retno sad is when the children ask about their father. And Retno experiences that almost every day.

"Yes, that's the sadness, taking care of the children every day, and every day the children ask about their father. And when the children see the neighbor's children walking with their father, they ask, 'When will we go for a walk with our father again?', especially the oldest one, he always asks, 'Is Papa coming home, has he come home?' That's really sad," said Retno.

"Especially when there are family events or something, Zul is an active person when it comes to family events, he likes to be involved. So it feels lonely," she added.

2. Dealing with the Questions from the Little Ones

To deal with the questions from her children, Retno has her own way of answering. She explains to the children that their father is currently at 'pesantren' (Islamic boarding school).

"He's still at school, yes, at the pesantren. Sometimes when we video call, the children say 'he's at school'. Some of my children already understand, they mean their father is detained, but they still say he's at the pesantren. Because some of my children can read well, so they already know, not from the phone, sometimes just by chance, they come across news about their father," said Retno.

Retno said Zul never asks for special food when visited. "When he's visited, he rarely asks for anything for himself, maybe just for the staff, for his friends. Because if he follows his desires, he's afraid that others won't be able to eat. So we bring anything," Retno concluded.
