"Since the age of 5, that's the first song (dangdut) I ever sang, the song Cuma Kamu. If you ask me if I can sing, yes I can sing. And then I started to love singing at the age of 7," said Afan to KapanLagi.com.
D'Academy 5 was the first dangdut competition audition that Afan participated in. The teenager from West Jakarta admitted to being happy to pass the audition and make it to the top three.

"I've been called a sponsored participant, because my dad also auditioned for (KDI) before, and because the judges know my dad, they let me through," said the 15-year-old teenager.
Although claiming to be heartbroken, it turns out Afan considers the mockery as a motivation for his struggle.
"It hurts, but oh well, when I see hate comments, I actually feel happy because it becomes motivation," he said.
Receiving an award at IDA 2023 on Thursday (5/10), Afan expressed his gratitude to both his parents and fans who never tire of supporting him.
Afan is often referred to as a talented young dangdut singer who has a complete package, including a melodious voice, excellent dancing skills, and a cute and handsome appearance.
