Kapanlagi.com - The theft case involving a former employee of Inul Vista karaoke house, owned by singer Inul Daratista, is currently being tried at the North Jakarta District Court.
The defendant, Leon Tada, has stolen several operational items, including a Toyota Avanza car along with its BPKB. Inul explained that initially, she did not want to bring this case to court.
"We actually don't want to imprison anyone, just find the person and ask them to return it, if they return it then we can settle it like that. But the economic conditions are chaotic, so we just resolve it in court," said Inul Daratista when met in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (27/11/2024).
However, the lack of good faith from the defendant and his family forced her to continue the legal process. Inul highlighted the defendant's family's attitude, which is considered to show no concern.
"His child is also uncooperative and his family is acting cool and detached, and yesterday in court, his family wasn't even there," she revealed.
Nevertheless, Inul hopes that the sentence imposed will be severe enough to serve as a deterrent.
"As for us, we want the prison time to be as long as possible, but the prosecutor's demand might not be that much, maybe 3 years or less," she said.
Adam Suseno's wife expressed that her disappointment is greater because the company's belongings did not return. One of the missing items is a laptop that contains years' worth of work data.
"I'm disappointed, not because I'm upset about how many years he got in prison, but I'm disappointed because our belongings didn't come back, that's all. What's important is actually the kids' work laptop. Everything from years has gone missing, so all the data is gone," said Inul.
Besides the laptop, a high-quality operational mobile phone was also among the stolen items. Although she has suffered significant losses, Inul stated that she has forgiven the defendant.
