Kapanlagi.com - Rahmadonal M Iqhbal, or commonly known as Iqhbal, successfully won the title of champion in Liga Dangdut Indonesia (LIDA) 2021. This man from West Sumatra caught the attention of the audience because he is also a doctor.
Although he is now known to the public as a dangdut singer, apparently Iqhbal still wants to fulfill his duty as a doctor. The reason he wants to remain a doctor is because of his parents.
“Honestly, I choose both but I prioritize being a doctor. Because it's my dream, and my parents also want me to be a doctor and practice medicine,” said Iqhbal during a virtual interview some time ago.
Iqhbal's next plan is to become a specialist doctor. Although he has not made a decision yet. In order to fulfill his desire to become a specialist doctor, Iqhbal has started saving from the income he earned as a champion.
“Of course, God willing, Iqhbal still wants to practice, still wants to become a specialist doctor but doesn't know what specialization he wants, hopefully it goes well,” said Iqhbal.
“(Iqhbal wants to use the prize from LIDA) to perform umrah or send his late parents on a hajj pilgrimage. He wants to pay off the debts of his family because Iqhbal's medical school education was a struggle for the family and required expenses. He wants to save for performance needs, daily life, and maybe also for further specialist education,” he continued.
Although Iqhbal prefers to be a doctor, it doesn't mean he forgets his singing hobby. Especially after winning the LIDA 2021 title, he still wants to maintain the quality of his voice and uphold the good name as an LIDA alumni.
“Singing is a hobby, inner satisfaction. But after LIDA, there are new expectations to maintain the current (career), the good name of LIDA alumni, and to continue maintaining quality. So, yes to being a doctor, and also yes to being a singer,” he concluded.
