Clara Gopa 'Duo Semangka' Almost Raped When Starting Her Career as a Singer

Migrating to Jakarta in 2015, Clara, who hoped to quickly find a label to be under, instead got trapped in sweet words from producers and fake labels.

When contacted by the team ©KapanLagi.com, Clara Gopa from the Duo Semangka admitted that she is still trying to find her true self when she first came to Jakarta.

"Since 2015, I started to make a name in Jakarta, but I haven't found my true identity yet. I haven't found the right label, I've been deceived by producers with their tricks and gimmicks," said Clara Gopa when contacted via WhatsApp message on Tuesday (28/1).

2. Almost Raped

Not only that, when she was in Jakarta, Clara Gopa claimed that she was almost raped by a producer from the label that supported her at that time.

"I was given false hope, they said they would promote me. I almost got raped, I've been held captive, I've been dropped off on the highway. Only in 2016 did I join Nagaswara label," she explained.

Furthermore, she mentioned that the producer already had a big name in the music industry.

"Yes, they wanted to drop me off on the highway too. It was the same producer, you know, the producer who works with artists who already have a name, but I don't want to mention who it is," she continued.

3. Unpleasant Treatment

Clara Gopa also told the chronology of the incident. She was promised a recording if she immediately went to Jakarta. However, upon arriving there, she received unpleasant treatment.

"When I arrived at the location, it turned out that I wasn't given any food, I wasn't given anything until the evening. Then he asked, what can you give me if I want to become an artist. I don't have any funds, so you can give your body. But I can't do that," she said.
