Dewi Perssik Feels Uncomfortable Being Accused of Infertility, Believes She Has Enough with What She Currently Has

The dangdut singer Dewi Perssik, or commonly known as Depe, recently expressed her frustration over the accusations thrown at her by netizens. Depe feels uncomfortable with the issue claiming that she is infertile and has even had an abortion, which has been increasingly spread on social media.

Although she initially tried not to care, Depe eventually felt disturbed by the accusations. She even decided to check her condition at the hospital to refute the circulating rumors.

"Honestly, it's a bit disturbing. They say, 'That's why you should get married quickly and have kids'. It makes me feel uncomfortable," said Dewi Perssik in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Monday (9/9/2024).

Not only from netizens, the pressure to get married and have children also comes from her own family, especially her mother.

"Especially since it's my mom who's saying this. My mom said, 'That's why you should get married quickly and have children,'" said Dewi Perssik.

According to Depe, it is only natural for her mother to hope that she will get married again and have biological children. However, on the other hand, Depe feels that she is already content with what she has now, including an adopted child named Gabriel and several grandchildren.

"Sometimes on the other hand, because I already have grandchildren, one child Gabriel, sometimes I feel like I don't want to have any more children. Because I already feel enough," said Depe.

Depe also emphasizes that everyone has different views in living life. Currently, she feels grateful for what she has and experiences.

"Everything goes back to our mindset. If we are grateful for what we have, we will live this life to the best of our ability," she explained.

Nevertheless, Depe admits that as an ordinary human, she still feels disturbed by the accusations thrown at her, especially regarding the issue of infertility.

"As an ordinary human, there is a point where I get tired when I hear, 'Of course, she has a good body, she has never given birth, infertile.' It doesn't feel good to hear it," concluded Dewi Perssik.
