Dewi Perssik managed to capture the attention of netizens after performing the song Pica Pica in a stage act that became widely discussed. In her performance, the dangdut singer, affectionately called Depe, greeted the audience with the phrase is there a Miss Ambon here? which then sparked comments from the public.

Regarding the reactions from netizens who highlighted her stage style, Depe chose not to be bothered and remained grateful. She emphasized that what matters most to her is being able to continue doing her job well.

"Those nicknames apparently bring rezeki (blessings). I also don’t know, there are people who call me like that, but they still give me jobs. So, I just feel grateful. That’s why if I don’t throw a tantrum, it’s because I’m making money," said Dewi Perssik at her home in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta, Friday (6/6/2025).

Even though criticisms are coming in, Depe actually considers the virality of the action to bring good luck. She mentioned that the moment made her more known with a new nickname she never expected before.

"It's okay. People are making money, right? So I'm just grateful. Because I'm making money, guys," said Dewi Perssik while laughing.

Depe also explained that she does not pay attention to negative remarks, especially if they do not directly affect her work. For her, as long as she can still make money, negative comments are not something to be magnified.

"We're not being hypocritical, right? If we don't make money, then of course," said the 39-year-old artist.

"Logically, if I'm insulted I don't get money, right? I'd be angry. If I'm insulted and I get money, then I can just enjoy it," Depe continued.

Depe even admitted that this experience is not the first time her name has gone viral due to a stage act. She recalled a similar incident when she sang the song 'Gudang Garam Jaya' which also became widely discussed.
