According to Bens Leo, there has never been a local language song that has been phenomenal in the history of the music industry in the country except for the works of Didi Kempot. The songs popularized by the maestro of campur sari can touch all layers of society from young people to the elderly.

"In my opinion, he is a complete artist, very phenomenal because he sings his own songs, all of which are more than 700, many of them became hits. Those songs are in Javanese. Apparently, there is a singer who introduced campur sari music to the Indonesian society before Didi Kempot became popular. That figure is Manthous, a figure and inventor of campur sari in Indonesia.

"The history of campur sari is not from Didi Kempot, campur sari originally came from the most popular one, Manthous. Mas Manthous originally came from a small city near Jogja, Mas Manthous was the one who first introduced campur sari, a combination of gamelan or traditional music with diatonic western music and the local language, Javanese. Well, Didi Kempot became popular later. He did it 30 years ago, around the 1990s," he continued.

Didi Kempot has many fanatic fans that have never been encountered throughout Bens Leo's music journalist career. From Bens Leo's perspective, Didi Kempot's popularity can be compared to worldwide K-Pop stars.

"If I say that statement, I mean that when we talk about Didi Kempot, the only Indonesian musician whose popularity can be compared, where his fans can compete with K-Pop," said Bens Leo.

At the peak of his popularity, Didi Kempot had a very busy performance schedule. AMBYAR TAK JOGETI CONCERT which is planned to be held in mid-2020 is believed by Bens Leo to make history in the Indonesian music industry.

"This is Didi Kempot, imagine if one day he will hold a show at Senayan Main Stadium, which was originally scheduled for July 10 but eventually postponed to November. So, Didi Kempot is actually making history, unfortunately he passed away. And his fans are extremely fanatic," he concluded.
