Elvy Sukaesih Tests Positive for Covid-19, Underwent 19 Days of Treatment in the Hospital

Kapanlagi.com - Senior dangdut singer Elvy Sukaesih has tested positive for covid-19. This surprising news was conveyed by Fitria Sukaesih, Elvi's daughter, some time ago.

"Innalillahi wainnailaihirojiun indeed yesterday we faced a quite shocking test for all of us, which is Umi (Elvi Sukaesih) being declared positive for COVID," she said in a video received by the media, on Saturday (19/9/2020).

"Our family's decision not to announce Umi's illness was solely because we didn't want to add to the fear. At that time, our whole family was extremely shocked and panicked, of course," she continued.

1. Thought to have Typhoid

The family initially thought that Elvy only had typhoid. This speculation arose because one of Elvy Sukaesih's grandchildren had previously been diagnosed with typhoid.

"We were quite surprised that it turned out Umi was sick for a few days and at that time, according to my child, Bella got sick first and was diagnosed with typhoid by the doctor. And I thought that Umi had typhoid," said Fitria.

2. Positive Test Result

Fitria then suggested her mother to undergo a lab test on August 17th. The doctor then began to suspect that Elvy might have COVID-19.

"Long story short, Umi went to the lab on Monday, August 17th, I asked her to go to the nearest hospital to my house, Umi went from Cawang to my house and it turned out that the blood test results didn't point to typhoid but the doctor was suspicious, the doctor on duty, it seems like it's pointing to COVID," Fitria explained.

"Then when we checked the results, we only got them the next day and it turned out that Umi tested positive (for COVID-19)," she added.

3. Currently in Self-Quarantine

After undergoing treatment in the hospital for more than 2 weeks, Elvy Sukaesih is now completing the remaining quarantine period at home. In the next few days, Elvy will be able to reunite with her family.

"InshaAllah, three more days and Umi will finish her isolation at home. The doctor recommended that after being treated for 19 days in the hospital, Umi must comply with the homecoming by undergoing isolation again for 14 days. Alhamdulillah, today is the eleventh day, and after this, we will all gather with Umi, and everyone will be able to see Umi," she concluded.
