10,582 People Visit Bromo Area Since It Was Opened, Quota Increased

Kapanlagi.com - A total of 10,582 people visited Mount Bromo Tourist Area since it was opened on August 28, 2020. Every day, around 600 people visit the tourist area.

"Data until September 14 amounted to 10,582 people. Daily visits are approximately 580-600 people," said Sarif Hidayat, Public Relations Officer of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (BB TNBTS) in Malang, on Friday (9/18).

Bromo Tourism started to open on August 28, after being closed to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in March 2020.

The reopening has been coordinated with the Covid-19 Task Force and the Regional Government (Pemda) of Bromo Stakeholders, namely Malang Regency, Pasuruan, Lumajang, and Probolinggo.

The opening of Bromo tourism applies strict health protocols according to the regulations. Ticket reservations must also be made online, taking into account the availability of a quota of 739 people or 20 percent of the normal daily capacity.

The monitoring and evaluation (Monev) results of stakeholders emphasize the implementation of health protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Covid-19 that have been approved and implemented. Visitor age is limited to a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 60 years.

The visit quota, which was previously 20 percent, has been increased to 40 percent of normal capacity or 1,265 people per day.

"The total number of visits has become 1,265 people per day, compared to the previous 739 people per day. The addition of the visit quota is around 40 percent," he said.

The increase in quota is as follows: Penanjakan 250 people from the previous 178 people, Bukit Kedaluh 129 people from the previous 86 people.

Bukit Cinta, which was previously 28 people, has become 42 people, Mentigen has become 150 people from the previous 100 people. Meanwhile, Savana or Teletubbies has increased from 347 people to 694 people.

This decision has been agreed upon in a stakeholders meeting at Hotel Bromo Permai Cemorolawang, Probolinggo Regency, on Friday (9/11).

"The visit quota in phase 2 will be around 40% according to the agreement of all parties, starting from Monday, September 14, 2020," he explained.

Sarif emphasizes that visitors to Bromo read and understand the established terms and conditions. Everyone is expected to understand the SOP in a pandemic situation.
