Gunawan LIDA Candidly States That Single 'Karmamu' Is Exactly Like His Past Love Story

In a live session with KapanLagi Dangdut, on Sunday (4/17), Gunawan admitted that he was quite surprised when he first heard the song created by Arya Bhima. Because he did not tell the writer in detail about his past love story.

"Before joining LIDA, I had experienced a relationship where I was betrayed, she left me for another man and then she wanted to come back to Gunawan but I didn't want to accept her again. It's a personal story that accidentally fits in this song. It really matches Gunawan's story with the song," said Gunawan LIDA.

"All the lyrics were written by Kak Arya Bhima and Gunawan had told his story in some content, so maybe the writer found out and got this story, and I just gave a clue and told him that I wanted a slow rock song but still had dangdut. Everything became one, and the song was given when it was finished," he continued.

1. Delayed for One Year

Gunawan also shared the process of making his single Karmamu at that time. He said the release of the single Karmamu was delayed for a year due to various reasons.

"It was delayed for a year due to various reasons, there were no difficulties in the process, only the release was delayed for a year. When I was recording the vocals and improvising, it was confusing to come up with my own unique style," he said.

"If I remember it again, it's really deep because it's already in the past and it hurt before, but when I sing this song, I remember it again and it's heavy. But, I use it as a reference to sing Karmamu well," he concluded.
