Gunawan LIDA 'Ngerem' Shopping to Help Parents' House Renovation Costs: Comfort is the Most Important

Kapanlagi.com - Gunawan Muharjan admits that he is no longer extravagant like before in using the money from his hard work to shop. One of the reasons he 'ngerem' buying shoe collections and other items is because he wants to make his parents happy.

This 26-year-old man also helps repair his parents' second house. Of course, it is to make them more comfortable, especially when he is going back to his hometown.

"I'm 'ngerem' because I have the responsibility to buy my mother's house and renovate my father's house," said Gunawan when talking with kapanlagi.com in the Cililitan area, East Jakarta, recently.

"There are two houses, but they are not too big, the important thing is that they are comfortable for my parents and look nice when Gunawan goes back to the village, that's what makes me 'ngerem' to manage finances, without that, I don't know," Gunawan added.

Indeed, after becoming the runner-up in Liga Dangdut Indonesia (LIDA) 2020, Gunawan admitted that he was somewhat extravagant in using his money. Whenever he sees something he likes, Gunawan doesn't think twice and immediately buys it.

However, as time goes by, Gunawan starts managing his finances to avoid extravagance like before. Even items that are deemed unused are shared with his closest people.

"Yes, there are a lot, like shoes, there are so many in the closet, I can't count how many, and at that time Gunawan even shared them with his family because there were so many, so he gave them to his younger siblings and older siblings so that they wouldn't pile up too much at home," he said.

2. Money from the First Honor

Gunawan also remembers the first item he bought after receiving his first honor money. He bought it because he knew very well that in the entertainment world, appearance is very important.

"The first time there was a set, shoes and pants because at that time, after the competition, our manager took us shopping and made us realize that we are public figures," he said.

"We can't have an ordinary appearance, it's okay to be ordinary, but for our performance, our selling value, the manager suggested having one or two collections," he concluded.
