Kapanlagi.com - Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Indosiar held virtual auditions for Liga Dangdut Indonesia (LIDA) 2021. Ekin Gabriel, PV-PRSD Division Head of Indosiar, stated that there were positive aspects and technical challenges faced by participants who took part in virtual auditions.

"They consider it advantageous because it's easy to register without having to come to the location. They don't have to queue, save costs, and costumes. Only the cost of credit," said Ekin, on Sunday (13/12/2020).

1. Get the Best Participants

In addition, the virtual screening process also makes it easier for the organizers to get the best participants. The auditions can be repeated for each provincial representative.

"In the past, we had to go to one city and it's done," he said.

Ekin gave an example of the audition for DKI Jakarta, which took place on Sunday (13/12/2020).

"For example, today (after the screening process) out of 80 people, 10 are selected to audition in front of the jury. Then, if we find good ones today, they will be ranked and selected again with the next audition participants," he said.

2. Obstacles

However, there are several technical obstacles that must be overcome and pose challenges for the organizers and participants.

"The obstacles are the signal and the participants' lack of technological skills. Some participants are not familiar, they are confused. But so far we have directly provided them with education. Not all areas have stable signals. In fact, some participants have to audition from their cars, from the hall to get a stable network," he said.
