Inul Daratista Admits Being Held Captive for 40 Days in Batam, Tempted by Rp 1 Million Offer

Without hesitation, Inul admitted that she does not have a junior high school diploma until now. This is because when she was in school, she chose to earn money on her own.

"I used to sing in very remote areas, from village to village. It's not like now, with Monata Palapa, it's so enjoyable. But in my time, we had to leave in the afternoon. That's why I didn't finish junior high school because I prioritized money over school. I don't have a junior high school diploma, don't be mistaken," Inul said to Luna Maya.

1. Singing for 3 Hours Paid 20 Thousand

Inul also revealed her payment when she was still starting her career as a dangdut singer. For 20 thousand rupiahs, the woman who is now the wife of Adam Suseno had to perform for 3 hours.

"So, I used to be a cafe singer, the payment was only 20 thousand. Singing for 3 hours in a dangdut cafe entertaining drunk people, an entertainer woman. Well, usually I would receive tips for singing there," she continued.

2. Once Held Captive for 40 Days in Batam

Inul then told a story about how she was held captive for a full 40 days in Batam. Although she didn't share the details, the creator of the ngebor dance was initially tempted by the temptation of a large payment.

"I have a lot of experiences, because I could sing in Batam. I was held captive in Batam for 1 and a half months. It happened because there was a guest there, and he invited me to go to Batam with an honorarium of 100 thousand. I thought it was a big amount, because I usually only get paid 20 thousand. Then I was given 10 jobs, which means I earned 1 million rupiahs. I really wanted to see that much money," Inul concluded.
