Lesti mentioned there was a moment when she felt very much longing for her parents. Especially since her communication with family and people outside the dorm was very limited.
"There was a moment when I (Lesti) really wanted to go home, missing my dad and mom. Back then, I wasn't allowed to touch my phone at all," said Lesti via the POLES program Kepoin Lesti.
"Then starting from the top 10, when I moved to the dorm, parents were allowed to visit, but only for one hour on Sundays. And it was accompanied by the dorm mother, so I couldn't be too free. It was very strict back then," added the singer of the song Egois.
2. Mixed Feelings
Her determination to keep learning was not easily shaken just because of her longing. Continuing her struggle, Lesti eventually emerged as the first winner of D'Academy. Lesti admitted her feelings were mixed when she was announced as the winner.
"I didn't expect it, I was very happy but mixed feelings. At that age, I was given the opportunity to win a big event while all my competitors were already adults. It was like, I was so happy, I can't even imagine how happy I was. It's indescribable," she recalled.
