Jenita Janet Becomes Mentor for 3 ODGJ and Releases Single

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Jenita Janet proves that people with mental disorders (ODGJ) also have talent in the world of singing. Jenita Janet has been training Rosi Arisha, Elsi Ardella, and Silla Swastika and showcasing their talents.

The three ODGJ from Yayasan Al-Fajar Berseri have a recovery rate of up to 80 percent. Jenita Janet personally mentored them, from the recording process until they were able to release a single.

"They really tried to be normal, to recover as they used to be. They have a strong desire to show their singing abilities," said Jenita Janet, in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, on Sunday (17/12/2023).

1. Difficulty During Training

During the process, Jenita Janet admitted to experiencing some difficulties. When training the three of them, it requires a special approach so that they can feel comfortable and produce the correct vocals.

"They can't immediately learn vocal techniques and everything. But how we free them to express their feelings through melodies. We take care of the notes so they can focus again," said Jenita Janet.

2. Giving Freedom

Of course, Jenita Janet tries not to burden Rosi Arisha, Elsi Ardella, and Silla Swastika during the recording process. She gives them the freedom to sing.

Elsi Ardella has sung a single titled Janji Manismu and Rosi Arisha performed the song Bertahan. Those songs were created by OXAND and Joko Antik as music producers.

"Singing is entertainment for them. If our expectations are like others, it won't work. Janet returns the freedom to them to sing. It's as simple as that," expressed Jenita Janet.

3. Follow the Call of the Heart

One of the things that underlies Jenita Janet becoming a mentor for ODGJ patients is the call of the heart. Jenita Janet's happiness is fulfilled when she sees all three of them being able to channel their abilities for others.

"Janet wants this little knowledge to be useful for others," Jenita Janet concluded.
