Melly Lee, LIDA 2020 Champion, Initially Felt Unsupported by West Java Residents but Received Support from Ridwan Kamil

Kapanlagi.com - Meli Nuryani, now better known as Melly Lee, felt many things when she was still a contestant on Liga Dangdut Indonesia (LIDA) 2020. The 19-year-old girl even admitted to feeling less confident at the time.

When met at Kapanlagi Youniverse, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon (17/5), Melly recounted what had made her lose her spirit during the competition. She felt that she lacked support from West Java residents, which made her pessimistic about surviving the competition.

Despite feeling unsupported by the people, Melly did her best in every performance. She only realized later that the judges' votes had helped her become the LIDA 2020 champion.

"During the auditions, I lacked confidence because I thought the SMS votes from West Java residents for me were insufficient. My SMS vote count was always below the others," Melly Lee said.

"So I tried my best, and I realized that I could still make it even though my SMS votes were low. I had to impress the judges because I knew I was good," she continued.

However, Melly actually received support from the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil. She certainly did not expect to receive such great support from the number one person in West Java.

"So during the grand final or top 4, if I'm not mistaken, suddenly there was a video from Kang Emil (Ridwan Kamil), and I didn't know anything so I was very happy. Hopefully, I can meet and talk with Kang Emil someday," she concluded.
