Promised Job Singing with a Salary of IDR 100 Thousand Once Performing, Inul Daratista Instead Taken to the Marshland

At the beginning of her career as a dangdut singer, Inul was once offered a job with a payment of IDR 100 thousand per performance. The amount was considered large when she used to be paid IDR 20 thousand at that time.

Talking with Nia Ramadhani in the Ngopi Dara event a while ago, Inul shared that unpleasant experience. "I used to be a cafe singer, the payment for cafe singers was cheap. The fee was, if I'm not mistaken, IDR 20 thousand. Singing from 9 pm until 2 am," Inul said.

"Then I was tempted with the offer to sing with a fee of IDR 100 thousand, but it was in Batam. But they also offered a lot of shows, they said they would give me 10 shows. So the total would be 1 million, at that time 1 million was extraordinary. So I was interested and I went," she continued.

1. Waiting for 1 Week

Hopes of earning a lot of money vanished when Inul Daratista had to wait for a long time without any clarity. Inul also never got to do the promised job.

"We arrived there (Batam) and waited for a week. (In my heart) why are we here for a week without singing, finally my friends revolted," Inul recalled.

2. Taken to the Swamp

Not only about waiting for a long time, once again Inul was surprised by the location of her performance. She admitted being taken to a swamp area which turned out to be a red-light district.

"So after we revolted, we were allowed to sing. I sang with my eyes closed, taken into the swamp, boarded a boat, and finally arrived at the location where I saw that it was surrounded by swamps and there was a place similar to a red-light district. We sang in front of those girls," said the mother of one child.
