Protested by Dangdut Lovers, Registration for LCLD 6 - 2025 Extended

Kapanlagi.com - As the deadline for registration for the Dangdut Song Creation Competition (LCLD) 6 – 2025 approaches on January 31, 2025, the LCLD committee has received protests from music lovers and dangdut song creators. The protests, conveyed through direct messages and WhatsApp messages to the committee's number, request the committee to extend the registration period.

According to Ridho Rhoma, the Chairman of the Competition, the committee initially scheduled the competition's closing on January 31, 2025. He added that the closing schedule for registration had been carefully considered as it would affect the judging schedule and the announcement of winners.

“We cannot ignore the requests from the public who still wish to participate in this competition. The request for an extension of the registration period indicates the extraordinary enthusiasm of dangdut lovers,” Ridho explained recently.

1. Hundreds of Song Materials

As of this news being written, the committee has received hundreds of song materials. The theme of romance still holds the first position, followed by religious or spiritual themes, socio-cultural themes, and national political themes.

Contacted separately, the Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Dangdut Music Artists Association (PAMDI) Cici Faramida considers this protest to be evidence that dangdut music is becoming more deeply rooted in Indonesian society.

“In its history, this is the first time the dangdut songwriting competition has received protests from the public. This is extraordinary,” said Cici.

Cici added that the proposal for an extension of the registration period indicates that there are many artists and dangdut songwriters who are resilient and want to showcase their quality in this LCLD.

LCLD 6 2025 competes for cash prizes worth hundreds of millions of rupiah. It will feature judges from various music genres. The grand final of the competition will be held in May 2025, broadcast on one of the TV stations in Indonesia.
