Iis Dahlia Responds Lightly to Netizens' Criticism About Misheard Lyrics of Indian Song: Why Should I Care?

Kapanlagi.com - Senior dangdut singer Iis Dahlia is back in the spotlight after an incident of misheard lyrics while singing an Indian song went viral on social media. Despite receiving many negative comments, the singer of the song Payung Hitam claims she doesn't really care about it. Instead, she responds lightly.

"Well, they don't know me," said Iis when met in the Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Friday (26/1/2025).

When asked if she feels tired of the harsh comments from netizens, this mother of two responded with her characteristic humor. According to Iis, her focus right now is more on herself than on what others say.

"Why should I care, my dear face just had a facelift. So I'm just relaxed," she revealed with a smile.

Iis also emphasized that she does not care about the opinions of netizens who often judge without understanding the actual situation. For her, her life is already busy enough with various important matters, so there is no time to deal with negative comments in cyberspace.

"My life has a lot to take care of. Why bother with netizens? They don’t know me and they don’t understand what happens behind the camera. They don’t know," Iis explained.

2. Not Afraid to Sing Indian Songs

When asked if the incident made her afraid to sing Indian songs again, Iis dismissed that idea. She emphasized that negative comments from netizens would not affect her confidence on stage.

"Why be afraid? I won’t be influenced by them," she stated firmly.

Iis also assured that she would continue to sing as usual. Such minor incidents are considered just part of her journey as a singer. "Yeah, it’s okay," she added.

3. Unique Joking Style

In addition, Iis also shared stories about how she and her family often joke with each other in a unique style. According to her, the insulting comments from netizens seem trivial compared to the jokes that happen within her family.

According to Iis, this joking style is also inherited from her husband, whom she considers to have a more 'extreme' sense of humor. This shows that she and her family are used to relaxed jokes and never take small matters seriously.

"Now netizens say this to my husband, his face like this, accidentally. Oh that's disgusting, Dad. That's actually normal. If you knew the jokes in our family, it's worse. That's just how our family is, that's our bonding. Her father (Iis's husband) is worse when it comes to joking," Iis concluded.
