10 Portraits of Nia Ramadhani in Tears at Her Grandmother's Funeral, Revealing the Last Message Asking Not to be Sad - Remembering the Kindness of the Deceased

The passing of Hanna Louise Poluan, the grandmother of Nia Ramadhani, brings deep sorrow to their extended family. The funeral process held at TPU Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, on Sunday (26/1/2025), became the last moment for Nia and her husband, Ardi Bakrie, to say goodbye to someone they loved dearly.

When met after the funeral, Nia expressed her feelings after witnessing the process. She felt relieved that her grandmother was no longer in pain, although the feeling of loss still weighed heavily on her.

"What is certain is that I feel relieved, because what people say, even though Oma has not been sick since yesterday. Because earlier when the coffin was closed, I could no longer see Oma's face," said Nia with a tone of emotion.

Even so, she tried to strengthen herself and her family, remembering her grandmother's message asking them not to be sad. She also prayed that all the good deeds her grandmother did would be rewarded and that all mistakes would be forgiven.

"But Oma's message, we must not be sad even though we cried earlier. Insyaallah, Oma's path will be made easy. Everything she did, the good deeds that Oma did, hopefully can become rewards above, and may the mistakes she ever made also be forgiven," Nia continued.

Hanna Louise Poluan passed away at the age of 87. According to Nia, the long life that her grandmother lived is proof of how valuable her life was. “Eighty-seven, thank God that’s a lot,” said the mother of three in a soft voice.

Nia also praised her grandmother's independence and her desire not to burden others, even until the end of her life. She recounted how her grandmother had prepared all the necessities for her burial long before that day arrived. “As people have mentioned, Grandma really never caused any trouble. So it’s true, she bought her own materials,” Nia said.

This preparation included not only small things but also details such as the fabric to be used and the coffin. Nia mentioned that her grandmother even tried the fabric and made revisions to suit her wishes.

“He tried using it, there were revisions at that time, then he had everything prepared. So on the day it came, we really weren't confused,” he said.

Nia also praised her grandmother's resilience and independence. She believes that trait may have developed because her grandmother lived abroad for a long time, making her used to doing everything by herself.

“Because it has been prepared for a long time. Yes, that’s one of the lessons from Grandma. If she can do it herself, then she will. Maybe because Grandma also lived abroad,” said Nia.
