Therefore, Ustaz Solmed responded to Lesti and Rizki Billar's secret marriage. He explained the laws and regulations regarding secret marriages.

"Why is it called secret? Secret means silent, quiet, not heard," said Ustaz Solmed when met at his residence in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Thursday evening (30/9).

1. Do Not Cancel the First Marriage

Ustaz Solmed said that the pillars of marriage, whether in secret or in accordance with religion, are the same. The only difference is the presence or absence of a marriage record at the Office of Religious Affairs.

"Regarding the pillars, secret marriages or marriages recognized by the state are all the same, they must be based on Islamic law. If it is a secret marriage, there is no record in the state. However, secret marriages involve several close family members and are kept secret," said April Jasmine's husband.

As for the uproar over the intentionally hidden secret marriage of Lesti and Billar, Solmed said it is normal. Solmed also explained that saying the marriage vows twice will not cancel the first marriage that has already been conducted.

"So it's normal if no one hears about it. It's normal if no one finds out about it. Because during a secret marriage, the information may not be widely known, so eventually one event is made to be witnessed by many people," he said.

"Talking about the first law is not a problem. The second law does not cancel the initial marriage. So, with the presence of marriage vows and remarriage even though they have already had a secret marriage, there is no legal problem," he concluded.
