Through His Legal Power, Lesti Kejora Speaks Out About Alleged Copyright Violation

Kapanlagi.com - The name of the dangdut singer Lesti Kejora is currently in the spotlight after being reported for alleged copyright infringement. The report was received by the Metro Jaya Police on May 18, 2025.

The complainant is a songwriter named Yoni Dores who feels that his work was used without permission. The report was filed with the police through his legal representative whose initials are IS.

"We confirm that on May 18 we received a report of a crime related to intellectual property or in this case a copyright crime," said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi, at his office on Tuesday (20/5/2025).

After a few days have passed, Lesti Kejora speaks out about the matter. The wife of Rizky Billar appointed Sadrakh Seskoadi as her legal representative to handle this case.

Through an Instagram post on Thursday (22/05), Sadrakh, as the legal representative, provided his response regarding the alleged copyright infringement by Lesti Kejora, who is his client.

Sadrakh provides his response in four points as follows:

1. That we have heard reports regarding Sister Lesti Kejora from news articles and/or broadcasts by the media.

2. That we respect the decision of Brother Yonni Dores to report Sister Lesti Kejora to the Indonesian National Police as it is the right of every Indonesian citizen.

3. That with the "presumption of innocence" we are still awaiting developments in the ongoing legal process and are also studying the basis of the report made by Brother Yonni Dores.

4. That through this explanation, we as the legal representatives of Sister Lesti Kejora request all parties to wait for further clarity on the handling of this case so that it does not become a news item that is misleading and cannot be accounted for.

2. The Questioned Song

On a separate occasion, Yoni Dores' attorney, Ilham Suwardi, revealed several song titles that are the subject of copyright infringement. These songs have been uploaded by Lesti to digital platforms such as YouTube without the permission of the song creators.

"There are several songs. Love Is Not a Ship, Like a Dry Branch, Arjuna the Crocodile, the Short-tailed Crocodile, and others," said Ilham at the South Tangerang Police Station, Wednesday (21/5/2025).

Ilham added that these songs have been performed by Lesti on various occasions, both in the form of covers on YouTube and in her concerts. However, his focus is solely on the infringements occurring on digital platforms.
