TOP 9 Group 2 LIDA 2020: Janna Eliminated, Gunawan Successfully Receives Standing Ovation from the Judges

Kapanlagi.com - The LIDA 2020 stage is back. This time, the participants who made it to the Top 9 of Group 2 have to compete to stay in the competition. Unfortunately, Janna (West Papua) was eliminated from the LIDA 2020 stage.

The support received by West Papua put Janna in the last position, which also dashed West Papua's hopes of bringing home the LIDA 2020 rotating trophy.

According to Fildan DA, Janna's singing style and vocal technique were already very good, but unfortunately, the performance of the West Papua representative was deemed less than optimal. The tempo and dynamics appeared hesitant in singing the song Ilalang, making the song not as beautiful as it should be.

1. Bring a Song with a Jazz Touch

Meanwhile, Meli (West Java) gave a mesmerizing performance while singing the song Bunga Bunga Cinta with a jazz touch. However, it seems that Meli's stage act was not enough to satisfy the judges.

"I am impressed with Meli's voice singing the song Bunga Bunga Cinta, this song can be made with a jazzy touch but it would be better if Meli tries to figure out which part is suitable to be given that touch," expressed Nassar.

Dewi Perssik also gave her comment where she felt that Meli was still lacking in expressiveness, making the performance seem ordinary.

2. Standing Ovation for Gunawan

Unlike Meli, Gunawan (North Maluku) successfully received full appreciation through a standing ovation from all the judges for his energetic performance and melodious voice while singing the song Milikku.

"Tonight, Gunawan presented something different on this stage, I could dance along with your dance moves and feel the spirit of this song because of your melodious voice," praised Soimah.

Thanks to his outstanding performance, North Maluku province took the first place in the polling results of LIDA 2020 Top 9 Group 2 with a score of 36.73%, followed by Meli (West Java) in second place with 33.88% and Janna (West Papua) in last place with 29.39%.
