After a two-year hiatus from the stage to prioritize his mental health, Shawn Mendes announced his return to the music world. Through a post on Instagram yesterday (07/04), he shared his happy news and expressed his enthusiasm to perform in front of his fans.

Mendes, who last released his album Wonder in 2020 and has released several singles since then, also hinted that his performance will include new music. He stated in his post, "I have also been working on a new album and I can't wait to play these new songs for you live."

Shawn Mendes' performance at Rock In Rio on September 22 will be an important moment for him. This is because he previously canceled the remaining Wonder World Tour in 2022 due to stress caused by post-pandemic touring life.

The singer conveyed the happy news through a post on Instagram, expressing his excitement to perform in front of his fans again.

In his statement at that time, Mendes wrote, "I started this tour with the enthusiasm to perform again after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is, I was not prepared at all for how difficult touring would be after this long time."

The 25-year-old singer is scheduled to headline at Rock In Rio, along with other stars like Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Travis Scott, and One Republic. This is not Mendes' first time performing at the famous festival in Brazil, as he has previously performed in 2017.
