Cameron Diaz spoke at the Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit 2024 about her reasons for taking a hiatus. "It (stopping acting) was something I had to do. It was the right thing to do to take back my life and I don’t care about anything else. No one can change my decision to build the life I want," she explained.

2. Revealing the Reasons for Her Return

On January 5, 2015, Cameron Diaz officially married Benji Madden and was blessed with two children, Raddix and Cardinal. During her hiatus, Cameron Diaz truly spent all her time with her family. Cameron Diaz explained that her husband and their two children said, "It’s time for us to support you and let Mom rise and do her work," she clarified.
