On the occasion of the birthday of the late Marissa Haque, which falls on October 15, 2024, Bella Fawzi along with her father, Ikang Fawzi, visited her mother's grave at TPU Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta. Bella expressed that her family continues to learn to be sincere in facing this loss.

"So our family's condition right now is still trying to learn to be strong and sincere. It is definitely a process that must be gone through, of course," said Bella Fawzi at TPU Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, Tuesday (15/10/2024).

"And indeed today we came to pay respects at my late mother's grave because today coincides with October 15, which is my mother's birthday. Because my mother was indeed called by the Almighty before her birthday," Bella added.

Marissa Haque passed away a few days before her birthday this year. Therefore, this pilgrimage became the family's way of celebrating her birthday in a different manner. Bella explained how they sent prayers and sprinkled flowers as a sign of sincere love.

"So our way of celebrating Mother's birthday now is like this, visiting her grave, sending prayers and sprinkling flowers as a sign of our love and care for our late Mother and also the sister of our father and wife of our father," Bella explained.

When reminiscing about Marissa's birthday last year, Bella shared about the family's simple yet meaningful tradition. Birthday celebrations usually involved dining together at their mother's favorite restaurant, without any grand celebrations.

"Last year, when Mom was still around, we usually had a family meal at Mom's favorite restaurant. It could be anywhere, as long as we had quality time together. There wasn't any specific celebration or place. The important thing was that we gathered together," Bella said.

Bella also reminisces about how her mother's friends often sent cakes, and she herself frequently made cakes to celebrate her mother's birthday. Her father would also always give various small gifts as a form of affection.

"What is it, celebrating by eating together. Sometimes there are a few of Mom's friends who like to bake cakes, who send cakes. Sometimes Bella also likes to make cakes for Mom. Dad also likes to buy various things for Mom," she said.

Besides the food at the restaurant, there are several special dishes that Bella always remembers every time she celebrates that special day. Her mother was known for ordering snacks from small businesses, which not only were enjoyed by the family but also served as a form of support for small entrepreneurs.

"Mom really liked to buy a lot of snacks from her friends who run small businesses. That's why when Mom passed away, many small business owners felt the loss of Mom. Because back then, Mom liked to cook and order various dishes," Bella concluded.
