In the mid-1990s, Hogan made a shocking move by transitioning to WCW. There, he performed a heel turn (switching from hero to villain) and created a new persona: “Hollywood Hogan.” Joining the nWo (New World Order), he sparked a major revolution that led WCW to defeat WWE in TV ratings for 83 consecutive weeks, a record that has never been matched again.

Despite his success, Hogan's career in WCW was also marred by scandals. One of them was the “Finger Poke of Doom” incident in 1999, where Kevin Nash fell just from being touched by Hogan, who then seized the championship title. This action was seen as humiliating for professional wrestling and became one of the main factors in WCW's downfall, which was eventually purchased by WWE in 2001.

After the WCW era ended, Hogan returned to WWE and created an iconic moment at WrestleMania X8 against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The match, which took place in Toronto, was met with tremendous cheers and is remembered as one of the best matches in WWE history, bringing together two great eras in one ring.

In 2015, a recording of Hogan using racial slurs leaked to the public. WWE immediately terminated his contract and removed all content related to him from their official site. Although he apologized directly to the wrestlers, his reputation never fully recovered. Some fans even booed him when he reappeared on WWE screens in the following years.

In the latter part of his life, Hogan was preparing to launch a new wrestling promotion called Real American Freestyle, which focused on classic-style wrestling like in the Olympics. He was pronounced dead after receiving emergency medical treatment.
