Marvel fans, get ready! FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS, the reboot film of the iconic superhero story Fantastic Four, is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025! This is not just any film, as it will be the opening film of Phase Six of the MCU and the 37th film in the Marvel cinematic universe. This film will feature the adventures of this iconic superhero team in the 1960s, battling the threat of Galactus, with renowned actors such as Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby.Â
Directed by Matt Shakman (who succeeded with the WandaVision series), this film will take us to an alternate universe, specifically the 1960s! Imagine, superhero action with a retro touch!
The cast is equally impressive: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Not enough? There's also Ralph Ineson as Galactus, John Malkovich, Paul Walter Hauser, and Natasha Lyonne in undisclosed roles.
The journey of Fantastic Four: First Steps to the big screen has not been entirely smooth. It was initially scheduled for release in November 2024, then February 2025, and later May 2025. Finally, the official release date has been set for July 2025.
Although plot details are still under wraps, the film is expected to follow the storyline of the original comic. The four astronauts will be exposed to cosmic radiation during a space mission, which then gives them superpowers. They will face a significant threat from Galactus, the cosmic god who devours planets.
In addition to thrilling action, this film will also explore themes of family and teamwork under great pressure. It will be exciting to see how they face these challenges!
