The Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a ground and air attack on the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning. Until now, the attention of the whole world is focused on the endless war. The conflict between Israel and Hamas has also attracted the attention of several international celebrities such as Gal Gadot, Madonna, Natalie Portman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Amy Schumer, and Mark Ruffalo.

According to the Associated Press report on Saturday afternoon, the war is the deadliest attack that has ever occurred in Israel in decades. As of Monday (9/10/2023), the total death toll from both sides has reached 1,600. The number of deaths in the attacks that have occurred since Saturday (7/10/2023) has reached 700 people. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the number of deaths due to Israeli airstrikes in the area has increased to 704 people, including 143 children and 105 women. The ministry also noted that around 4,000 other Palestinians have been injured as a result of the attacks. On the other hand, more than 900 people have died in Israel as a result of the conflict, including 17 Palestinians in the West Bank and four Hezbollah members in Lebanon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gal Gadot, who previously expressed support for Israel, is now showing her sympathy through a post on her personal Instagram account, which includes a screenshot of a news headline informing about militants who have taken Israeli soldiers and civilians hostage.

Quoted from her personal Instagram caption, Gadot writes that "At least 250 Israelis have been killed and dozens of women, children, and elderly people are being held hostage in Gaza by the Palestinian military group Hamas."

She adds, "Since early morning, more than 3,000 rockets have been fired. Hamas is holding hostages, controlling bases and settlements in Israel. There are more than 1,500 injured people and intense fighting is still ongoing. 'I hear their voices and they are banging on the door. I am with my two young children.' My heart is broken."

In her latest post, Gal Gadot invites her followers to support Israel, she writes, "I stand with Israel and so should you. The world cannot remain neutral when such horrific acts of terror are happening!"

1. Natalie Portman Describes Her Heart as Broken

The BLACK SWAN actress, Natalie Portman, also showed her sympathy through her personal Instagram account. She uploaded a black background post with her own words.

The post reads, “My heart breaks for the people of Israel. Children, women, and the elderly have been killed and kidnapped from their own homes. I am horrified by this barbaric act and my heart beats with love and prayers for all the affected families,” Natalie wrote in the post she uploaded on Sunday (8/10/2023).

2. Madonna Speaks Out Through Video

Phenomenal singer Madonna expressed her support for Israel in her personal Instagram post in the form of a 1-minute video. In the video, she invites her followers to experience the situation that Israel is going through during the conflict.

In the caption of the post, Madonna writes, "Watching all these families, especially children, being herded, attacked, and killed on the streets is heartbreaking. Imagine if this happened to you?? It's Unimaginable. Conflict can never be resolved through violence. Unfortunately, Humanity doesn't understand this Universal truth. It Never Understands,"

She then continues, "We live in a world destroyed by hatred. My heart goes out to Israel. To the families and homes that have been destroyed. To the children who are missing. To the Innocent Victims who have been killed. To All who are suffering or will suffer as a result of this conflict," she wrote in the post uploaded on Sunday (8/10/2023).

3. Jamie Lee Curtis Shares Video of Victims

Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis responded by posting a photo of the Israeli flag on Saturday (7/10/2023). In addition, she also posted a screenshot of the Anti-Defamation League or ADL's post containing information about Hamas attacks on Israel. Jamie also shared a video and screenshot of Guy Oseary's post showing the moments when a girl named Noa was kidnapped and shot at a music festival.

Guy Oseary's post reads, "This is horrifying... this murder is celebrated by the government/regime in Iran. Many women, children, and elderly people are taken from their homes and kidnapped. I always pray for peace. ALWAYS. I always stand up for my Jewish community and also stand up for my Arab brothers and sisters. I have no words today. Just a broken heart. Just tears."

4. Mark Ruffalo's Sadness

The actor who played Hulk, Mark Rufallo, shared a post with black background on his personal Instagram on Tuesday (10/10/2023). He expressed his sadness for the lives lost due to the Palestinian Hamas attack.

He wrote, "Regarding the tragic events happening in Israel and Gaza, I feel deeply saddened by the unspoken suffering and loss of life and loved ones."

Mark then continued, "This horrific violence needs to end. I don't have clear answers, but I feel it's crucial to focus on the existence and reality of humanity that we all share. The sanctity of our shared humanity is expected to heal unimaginable wounds caused by division."

5. Amy Schumer Responds to Jewish People

Actress and comedian, Amy Schumer, shared an Instagram post, the same as Jamie Lee Curtis, which was a video from Guy Oseary on Saturday (7/10/2023). In her caption, she emphasized that Jewish people are not allowed to defend themselves.

"Jewish people are the only group not allowed to defend themselves," Amy Schumer wrote beneath Oseary's statement.

"This has nothing to do with occupation. Hamas does not want to end the occupation. They want to eradicate Israel. They are funded by Iran, who is trying to destroy the peace agreement," Amy continued.

In addition, Amy also showed her support by sharing a post by Mandani Dayani, a lawyer and activist.

Mandani's post reads, "Never in all my years as an activist have I seen another activist, after seeing the recording of a little girl being killed and dragged on the streets, immediately feel the need to go on the internet and justify their death. 'Oh, this is all the reasons why the girl was burned alive!' For full clarity, the only reason you do this is because you have been made to believe that killing Jewish people can even be justified."
