Jonathan Majors Joins Marvel Cinematic Universe, Joins the Main Cast of Next 'ANT-MAN' Film

Kapanlagi.com - After success in the hit HBO series, LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, now Jonathan Majors is ready to step into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Majors has been chosen to be one of the main cast members in the next ANT-MAN film alongside Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.

Peyton Reed, who directed the first film, will return to lead this new project with Jeff Loveness as the screenwriter. Meanwhile, Head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige will serve as the producer.

1. Play the Villain Character

Although the studio has not yet commented, one source close to the project said that Majors is likely to play the super villain Kang the Conqueror. As known, Kang is a time-traveling entity who fights against everyone, from Thor, Spider-Man, to the entire Avengers team in the comic version.

However, the source also revealed that some characters may be portrayed differently in future films. Considering there are many new characters in the MCU.

2. Project Flood

The summer of 2020 seems to be a shining moment for Majors, both for film and TV projects. Majors stars in the epic war drama Spike Lee DA 5 BLOODS, where he plays one of the sons of the Army unit who returns to Vietnam to search for gold and their fallen leader.

Furthermore, Majors also stars in LOVECRAFT COUNTRY by Misha Green produced by Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams. This series premiered in August and broke digital records for the channel.

Currently, Majors stars in the Netflix series THE HARDER THEY FALL which is currently in production, where he plays the villain Nat Love. He is also chosen to star in DEVOTION by Black Label media.

3. Accomplished Actor

Prior to these projects, Majors received critical acclaim for the film THE LAST BLACK MAN IN SAN FRANCISCO, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The film marked Majors' journey as a lead actor, earning him a nomination for the Gotham Award in the Breakthrough Actor category and the Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male Actor.
