Director of 'AVENGERS ENDGAME' Reveals 'SECRET WARS' Could Be the Biggest Film in MCU History

Kapanlagi.com - For Marvel fans, the euphoria of last year's peak of the Avengers series, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and AVENGERS: END GAME still lingers. Currently, these films have become the biggest in history ever made by the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). However, the MCU seems unsatisfied with that title. They need a film that is as big or even bigger than the Avengers series.

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are the directors behind the success of this Avengers series finale. The Russo brothers do not deny the possibility of a new project that can rival the success of the Avengers. They are currently rumored to be discussing the production of the film SECRET WARS, an adaptation of the 80s Marvel crossover between heroes and villains.

"I read that comic when I was 10-11 years old. It was one of the great comics that told the story of a large-scale gathering of heroes," said Joe Russo to BroBible about his love for SECRET WARS. Last year he also made a joke that someday he will turn this comic into a movie in an interview with San Diego Comic-Con.

"I also like the idea of gathering villains and heroes to work together. Anthony and I also like the complicated relationship between villains and heroes, we like villains who believe that they are heroes in their own stories. That's the concept of SECRET WARS" added Joe Russo who understands the concept of this comic very well.

In Marvel comics, SECRET WARS itself has two storylines, one of which takes place in 1984 and tells the story of the cosmic entity Beyonder, who gathers various heroes and villains into Battleworld. Not only Avengers, the universe of Fantastic Four and X-Men will also participate in this war. Starting from superheroes like Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, and Thing will fight alongside X-Men characters like Wolverine, Magneto, Colossus, and the leader of the X-Men, Mr. X.

Anthony Russo himself said, "It will be the biggest film you can imagine, that's what makes us excited about the story. This ambition is even bigger than the ambition of INFINITY SAGA"

Seeing how enthusiastic and ambitious these sibling directors are in accepting the challenge of making the film SECRET WARS makes us, especially Marvel fans, look forward to the realization of this film. Will this film rival the success of the Avengers series finale or even surpass the success of the Avengers?
