Fans of the series Wednesday can finally prepare for the continuation of the dark adventures of Wednesday Addams. After the huge success of its first season, Netflix has officially announced various important details regarding the second season, from the release schedule to the new cast members that are stealing the spotlight.
This Addams Family spin-off series returns with a more mysterious story, surprising guest stars, and a dark yet entertaining atmosphere.
The second season of Wednesday will consist of eight episodes and be divided into two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on Wednesday, August 6, while the remaining four episodes will follow a month later, specifically on Wednesday, September 3. The series is once again directed by Tim Burton alongside Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.
The main cast from the first season returns, including Jenna Ortega, Luis Guzman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Isaac Ordonez, Fred Armisen, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, and Joy Sunday. This season also features new stars such as Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor as regular cast members.
Notable guest names also join, including Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
Lady Gaga is confirmed to appear as a guest star in the second half of the season, a news announced directly at the Netflix Tudum event, accompanied by her stunning stage performance. Not only that, Anthony Michael Hall will also join, marking his small reunion with Tim Burton after the film Edward Scissorhands. However, it should be noted that Percy Hynes White, who previously played Xavier, will not return this season.
The second season will continue the story after Wednesday leaves Nevermore Academy for summer vacation, before eventually receiving a mysterious message from an unknown sender.
Back at the academy, Wednesday faces new enemies, old issues, and various conflicts with her family and friends. With her sharp intellect and her signature cold demeanor, Wednesday must solve the latest supernatural mystery that will take us into a darker and more thrilling tale.
