Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars in a film titled RAJAH, produced by Margate House Films, 852 Films, and the Sarawak Tourism Board. This film is a collaboration between four countries: the United States, China, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom.

The entire shooting process took place in Sarawak from August to the end of October 2019. About 70 percent of the filming occurred in Siniawan, located in the Bau district of Sarawak.

The film RAJAH tells the historical story of the White Rajah in Sarawak, Malaysia, namely Sir James Brooke (1803-1868). This story depicts his life journey and his influence in the history of the region.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was born in Dublin, Ireland on July 27, 1977. He had a challenging childhood and was expelled from school at the age of 16. After that, he spent time in a local pool hall, where he was discovered by Hubbard Casting.

The agent was looking for talent for David Puttnam's production, WAR OF THE BUTTONS (1994), and invited Rhys Meyers to audition.

Although he did not get the role, he received an offer to audition for the national advertising campaign for Knorr Soup. His film debut began with a small role in A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE (1994) as First Young Man.

His first leading role was in the film THE DISAPPEARANCE OF FINBAR (1996), followed by an offer to star in MICHAEL COLLINS (1996).

He went to Dublin to meet director Neil Jordan and successfully landed the role of Collins' killer. Since then, Rhys Meyers has appeared in films such as THE MAKER (1997), TELLING LIES IN AMERICA (1997), and THE TRIBE (1998).

He also starred in films such as THE GOVERNESS (1998), B. MONKEY (1998), TITUS (1999), and RIDE WITH THE DEVIL (1999). Rhys Meyers received critical acclaim for his performances.

Especially in the film VELVET GOLDMINE (1998) and in the mini-series GORMENGHAST (2000). In addition to acting, he also ventured into a music career by showcasing his vocals in VELVET GOLDMINE and appeared in the film's soundtrack.
