The Main Reason Kobe Bryant Likes Riding Helicopters, For More Time with Family

Kapanlagi.com - The death of Kobe Bryant in a helicopter accident truly saddened many people. The basketball legend died after the helicopter he was on crashed into a hill and caught fire in Calabasas, California, on Sunday morning (26/1/2020) local time.

Kobe Bryant's interview about his frequent helicopter rides has once again been discussed by many. The former LA Lakers star talked about this when he was a guest on the sports podcast hosted by Alex Rodriguez, The Corp With A-Rod and Big Cat, in December 2018.

1. Because of Traffic Jam

Kobe Bryant admitted that he started choosing to ride helicopters when he was still playing for the LA Lakers. When he was stuck in traffic, it made him think a lot about wasting time.

"The traffic became very very bad. I was trapped in traffic and it felt like disappearing like a school drama, because of being stuck in traffic. I had to find a way to practice and focus on work, but not waste time for family," said Kobe at that time.

2. Interested in Helicopters

Thinking a lot when being stuck in traffic is what gave Kobe the idea to travel by helicopter. Especially when he had to move from his home in Orange County to the training or competition venue.

"So when I saw a helicopter, it could fly and return within fifteen minutes, that's when it all started," said Kobe.

3. Don't Want to Waste Time with Children

One of the things Kobe Bryant emphasized was that he absolutely did not want to waste time with his family. Although he often took helicopters, it doesn't mean he didn't want to drive a car. If there is time, he always replaces his wife to pick up the children from school.

"You have journeys and moments where you can't see your children. That's why every time there is a chance to meet, I spend time with them, even if it's only twenty minutes in the car," said Kobe Bryant.
