Update on Liam Payne Case: Investigation Leads to Charges Against 5 Suspects

Kapanlagi.com - Argentine authorities have now charged five people in connection with the death of former One Direction member, Liam Payne. The charges include one of his close friends and several hotel staff members who are suspected of contributing to the death of the singer of the song Strip That Down.

The prosecution of the five defendants is being overseen by Andres Esteban Madrea, head of the National Office of Criminal Prosecution and Corrections, who has been investigating the case since day one. Liam Payne was declared dead on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

1. His Close Friend Charged with 15 Years in Prison

Rogelio Roger Nores stated that he was a close friend of the 31-year-old musician. Roger admitted that he did meet Liam before the musician was declared dead after falling from his hotel balcony. The prosecutor said that Roger could be charged with neglecting someone that resulted in death, and could face a sentence of 5-15 years in prison.

Roger denied involvement in his friend's death in a statement in November. "I never left Liam, I went to his hotel 3 times that day and left 40 minutes before this incident. I never imagined something like this would happen," he said.

2. Two Hotel Staff Charged in Liam Payne's Death

The hotel manager, Gilda Martin, and head receptionist, Esteban Grassi, are also facing murder charges. According to the judge handling the case, both contributed to creating the risk that led to Liam Payne's death. Both claimed to have seen Liam, who was intoxicated, being taken upstairs by three unidentified individuals. "Liam's awareness changed and there was a balcony in that room. The right thing to do was to leave him in a safe place and stay with him until the doctor arrived," the judge stated regarding the charges against the two hotel staff.

3. Drug Suppliers Also Facing Charges

Braian Nahuel Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra are also suspects in the death of Liam Payne. Both are accused of supplying cocaine to the deceased before he was found dead after falling from the 3rd-floor balcony of the CasaSur hotel in Argentina. Braian and Ezequiel supplied drugs and illegal substances to Liam twice on the days leading up to his death. Currently, both are still in custody.
