Reported by Variety on Tuesday (17/10/23), Gigi Hadid posted an Instagram story about the Hamas vs Israel war, stating, “There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians. Condemning the Israeli government is not antisemitic and supporting Palestinians is not supporting Hamas.”
The Israeli government apparently responded to the post through the IG account @stateofisrael. “Have you been sleeping the past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes?” They also added the statement, “Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you.”

"There is nothing valiant about Hamas' massacre of Israelis. Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestinian, and supporting Israelis in their fight against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do. (Tidak ada yang gagah dalam pembantaian warga Israel oleh Hamas. Mengutuk Hamas atas identitas mereka yang sebenarnya (ISIS) bukanlah tindakan anti-Palestina dan mendukung Israel dalam perjuangan mereka melawan teroris barbar adalah hal yang benar),” she wrote.

Gigi Hadid's defense of Palestine is not the first time she has spoken out about the Hamas vs Israel conflict. In her post on October 11, 2023, Gigi Hadid expressed her disagreement with the attacks. However, she remains steadfast in advocating for freedom for Palestine.
“My thoughts are with all those affected by this unjustifiable tragedy and every day that innocent lives are taken by this conflict – too many of which are children,” said Gigi Hadid.

Through the ongoing warfare, Gigi Hadid states that there is not a day where she does not think about the struggle of the Palestinian people who have become victims of war. However, she still wants the independence to be achieved by Palestine without causing suffering to the Jewish community.
"Terror against innocent people is not in line and does not bring any benefit to the 'Free Palestine' movement," writes Gigi Hadid.
