LAYLA MAJNUN, a drama genre film, premiered on Netflix on February 11, 2021. The storyline is inspired by the legendary love story of Layla & Majnun in the Middle East. The film stars Acha Septriasa as Layla. Layla is portrayed as an intelligent woman who has the opportunity to teach as a guest lecturer in Azerbaijan.

Before leaving, Layla was actually arranged to marry a man named Ibnu (Baim Wong). Ibnu has proposed and been accepted by Layla on the condition that she is allowed to go to Azerbaijan.

In that European country, Layla meets a man named Samir (Reza Rahardian) who becomes one of her students. Samir's romantic gestures and poetic words make Layla fall in love with him. However, Layla must remember that she has been engaged to Ibnu.
