Besides being delayed for 2 years, the movie, which was adapted from a viral thread on Twitter, also features a cast of big names. One of the interesting things is the selection of Aulia Sarah to portray the character of Badarawuhi, the ghost dancer.
This is Aulia's first horror movie, and she was immediately chosen to play the role of a ghost. In an exclusive interview with KapanLagi.com, Aulia shared her experiences and unforgettable memories.
"Honestly, from the beginning of the reading process, I felt like there was a lot of pressure as Badarawuhi," said the 30-year-old woman during an exclusive interview with KapanLagi.com some time ago.

Aulia doesn't deny that she had a lot of homework when playing the character of Badarawuhi. There were many new things or lessons that she had to explore further in order to bring the ghostly dancer to life.
"First, I had to observe her character, second, I had to play with snakes so that I wouldn't be stiff, even though I personally am not afraid of snakes. Then, as a dancer, practicing the dance of that region was very difficult and tiring. And with a Javanese background, I had to speak with a Javanese dialect. But thank God, everything went smoothly and there were no mystical disturbances or anything like that," Aulia recalled.

Aulia herself didn't want to play a character without any knowledge. When she was confirmed to play Badarawuhi, she immediately rushed to do various research in order to get to know the ghostly dancer better.
"I did a lot of research, I even dug into social media, read books, looked at references from foreign films, what kind of dominant, powerful female characters there are. I dug into everything. Actually, this character already has a pattern, but I had to have my own development version. Maybe in Indonesia, a character like her would be imagined as the Queen of the South Coast," she concluded.

The movie KKN DI DESA PENARI, produced by MD Pictures, was actually completed in 2019 and scheduled to be released in 2020. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit and cinemas were not allowed to operate, so the movie had to be postponed for an indefinite period of time.
Now, at the beginning of 2022, MD Pictures announced that KKN DI DESA PENARI will be released on the big screen in February. However, once again, eager viewers will have to wait as there are PPKM regulations from the government that have caused the movie to be postponed again until April 30, 2022. Well, hopefully there won't be any more delays after this.

Interestingly, KKN DI DESA PENARI will be released in 2 different versions, namely UNCUT and Non-UNCUT. Each version has its own target audience, where the UNCUT version is only intended for viewers aged 18 and above.
In addition, MD Pictures also presents the movie poster for KKN DI DESA PENARI with the latest technology called Augmented Reality. This is the first movie poster with Augmented Reality technology and can be enjoyed by the general audience.
