Bayu Skak Admits Being Nervous as the Director of the Film 'LARA ATI', Here's the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - After being a co-director in the film YOWIS BEN, Bayu Skak finally dared to fully immerse himself as the director in his latest film titled LARA ATI, which is produced together with BASE Entertainment. He admits to being nervous but also very enthusiastic about being involved in this project.

"More nervous, having experienced three films (as a co-director), it's a learning experience for me. Nervous but excited. Hopefully, it will be a good and great work. I will also give my best for this LARA ATI project," said Bayu Skak during a virtual press conference on Friday (5/3).

Producer of BASE Entertainment, Shanty Harmayn, explained the reason for wanting to collaborate with Bayu Skak. "Bayu has a unique way of storytelling. He always brings the uniqueness of language usage and the closeness of the story from where he comes from," said Shanty Harmayn.

Like Bayu Skak's characteristic, this romantic comedy drama film still highlights the cultural elements of East Java. LARA ATI (Broken Heart) not only tells about romance but also conflicts with parents.

Bayu Skak plays as Joko, who actually has different aspirations but has to follow his parents' wishes to work as an office employee.

"Joko can be said to have lara ati (broken heart) not only about romance, but at home, he actually wants to pursue creative design, but his mother wants him to become an employee, so he becomes a bank employee, an accountant," said Bayu Skak.

2. Shooting Still Adheres to Health Protocols

Meanwhile, the shooting process will be carried out in Surabaya starting from March 15, which will certainly adhere to health protocols.

"Shooting in Surabaya will still follow strict health protocols. Shooting on the 15th (March). We have prepared security for the talents and the shooting process. It will be tightly guarded, and it will be difficult for outsiders to enter. It may be finished by the 10th (April) so it won't clash with the fasting month," concluded Bayu.

In this film, Bayu Skak also collaborates with well-known female lead actresses, namely Tatjana Saphira and Sahila Hisyam. In addition, there are also Keisya Levronka, Ciccio Manassero, Benidictus Siregar, and many more.
