Bene Dion is Concerned About AGAK LAEN: MENYALA PANTIKU Being Eroded by 'AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH'

The film AGAK LAEN: MENYALA PANTIKU continues to achieve remarkable success, surpassing 7 million viewers. However, this euphoria is overshadowed by a significant challenge coming from the Hollywood blockbuster, AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH.

Bene Dion Rajagukguk, one of the main actors, is aware of the increasingly threatened position of their film. The presence of the sequel to James Cameron's giant film is predicted to dominate cinema screens in Indonesia in the near future.

Facing this situation, Bene is realistic but still holds onto hope. He realizes that the decrease in the number of screens is an inevitable thing when dealing with globally scaled foreign films.

"So, we hope that Agak Laen still has a chance to attract viewers. But we have to admit that the number of screens will decline significantly when Avatar is released," he said with a resigned tone.

Nevertheless, achieving 7 million viewers is already strong evidence of the quality of local films. Bene hopes the remaining screens can still be utilized by audiences who haven't had the chance to watch their film.

Competition with imported films is indeed a classic issue in the domestic film industry. However, the resilience of Agak Laen: Menyala Pantiku in the box office shows that Indonesian films can be hosts in their own country.
