One of the reasons that makes HEARTBREAK MOTEL expensive is the use of celluloid cameras. To see the results, they have to be processed in Taiwan first.
"For this film, some parts were recorded using a digital camera, a 16mm celluloid camera, and a 35mm celluloid camera. With digital cameras, it's easy, you just insert the file and save it on a hard disk. But with celluloid, we record it and then the film is processed in Taiwan, so we can't preview it directly," said Angga.
2. Providing a Different Cinematic Experience
The use of three camera formats was intentional by Angga Dwimas Sasongko to provide a different cinematic experience. He also wanted the making of the film HEARTBREAK MOTEL to be more challenging than his previous works.
"This is done to provide an experience of watching three different worlds. Not only from the characters, but also from how they are visually presented. I want to provide a new cinematic experience for my audience," said Angga.
