Comedy Horror BEFORE GRANDMA PICKS YOU UP, Starring Angga Yunanda and Dodit Mulyanto

Kapanlagi.com - After QORIN 2, Rapi Film has released another horror film, but this time with a touch of comedy. It can not only make the audience scream but also make them laugh at the same time. The film SEBELUM DIJEMPUT NENEK, starring Angga Yunanda & Dodit Mulyanto as twin brothers, successfully held its Gala Premiere at Epicentrum XXI on January 14, 2026.

It tells the story of a fractured relationship between twin brothers that forces them to live apart. In the city and in the village, Akbar (Dodit Mulyanto) who lives in the village must take care of their grandmother. Meanwhile, Hestu (Angga Yunanda) who goes to the city vows to only return when their grandmother passes away. Yup! In the end, it turned out to be true, that vow became a reality, their grandmother passed away on the most sacred day. On that day, the spirits of those who die will haunt until someone accompanies them to the afterlife. They were both haunted by their grandmother, to the point where they had to perform an exorcism ritual, which instead summoned the spirits of the entire village!

Happiness and enthusiasm radiated on the faces of the invited guests and horror film lovers. The Gala Premiere, attended by 10 Movieverse members, became even more exciting with the presence of highly anticipated stars like Angga Yunanda, Dodit Mulyanto, Wavi Zihan, Oki Rengga, and Nopek Novian during the red carpet session.

Positive comments were abundant from Movieverse after watching the premiere of the film directed by Fajar Martha Santosa. The comedy successfully elicited laughter from the audience, from quirky remarks to perfectly timed gestures. This moment was not just about watching together, but also about building solid relationships among the members. Before the film started, the members even took a group photo together with the grandmother icon from the film SEBELUM DIJEMPUT NENEK, which will officially be released on January 22, 2026.

BEFORE PICKED UP BY GRANDMA / credit: Theresia Resa Paramita

Fadjardawn: The film Before Grandma Picks You Up is a must-add to your watchlist this month! This film presents a light and easily enjoyable story without needing to think too hard. Although it is a horror genre, the comedic atmosphere is very dominant and successfully creates an exciting vibe throughout the film. From start to finish, the audience's laughter continues thanks to the banter, jokes, and unexpected punchlines that make the entire theater laugh together. It's the perfect watch for some relaxed entertainment and to unwind.

Seila: Horror-comedy never fails. I'm really satisfied seeing Angga getting emotional when talking to his twin Dodit every time the "twins" argue, it feels like the whole world should know. HONESTLY, I CAN COUNT THE TIMES I'VE WATCHED HORROR IN THE CINEMA ON MY FINGERS, but since this one is predominantly comedy, make sure to catch it in your favorite cinema.

Yunita Sari: Wow so excited for the film Before Grandma Picks You Up and yup you must watch it, it's fun, funny, and also horror, so you won't be bored while watching, guys.

Rio: So fun, no medicine

liinn: A fun horror-comedy film!! The storyline is neat, it's horror yes, but especially the comedy is spot on, there are always remarks/gestures that make you laugh out loud.
