Cornelio Sunny Reveals Challenges of Filming 'PSYKOPAT': Heavy, But Fun!

Kapanlagi.com - The Indonesian horror film industry will welcome another work that promises a different experience for its audience. Psykopat, the latest film produced by Elior Tesla Pictures and R1 Pictures, offers a more immersive horror concept with unique cinematography techniques.

One of the main actors, Cornelio Sunny, shared his experiences during the challenging filming process, especially due to the use of a special helmet that supports a camera in front of the actors' faces.

In this film, directed by Renaldo Samsara and Matthew Hart, the actors are required not only to act but also to adapt to a filming technique that is not widely used in Indonesia. The camera mounted on the special helmet weighs about 4.5 kilograms, adding to the challenge for the performers.

"It's heavy, about 4.5 kilograms. But it's okay, it's fun because of the new perspective in Indonesian filmmaking," said Cornelio Sunny, when met at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Thursday (30/1).

1. The Biggest Challenge

Renaldo Samsara himself admits that the biggest challenge in the production of Psykopat is not only technical but also how the actors can continue to perform at their best while adapting to the equipment they are using.

"From a non-technical side, when we have to perform scenes with actors wearing helmets specially assembled to support the camera placed in front of their faces. The total weight of the camera along with other accessories is about 4.5 kg, so for the first time, the actors are also trying to maintain their roles while balancing the operation of that technical side," explained Renaldo.

In addition to being technically challenging, this film also presents a more intense atmosphere for its players. With a closer perspective, Psykopat tries to bring the audience directly into the experiences of the characters, feeling the tension they experience.

"The hope is certainly to successfully bring a different theme and experience that is accepted by the public. Essentially, Psykopat is not just an exciting movie, but it can also be a memorable experience after watching it," added Renaldo.

This film stars Arifin Putra, Nino Fernandez, Nadine Alexandra, Irwansyah, Marthino Lio, and Hannah Al Rashid, and tells the story of Rufus (Arifin Putra), a successful mentalist who invites four participants, Michael (Nino Fernandez), Risma (Nadine Alexandra), Lingga (Irwansyah), and Laila (Hannah Al Rashid) to stay in a luxurious house that was the site of a murder.
