The decade-long journey of the best-selling horror franchise DANUR UNIVERSE in Indonesia has finally reached a finish line that is rich in meaning and tears. The author of the novel and the real figure behind this story, Risa Saraswati, shares a deeply nostalgic moment related to the child actors who played the ghosts accompanying her past.
"Because honestly, yesterday we held a buka puasa event together with Peter Cs from the first Danur to Danur today," she said after the gala premiere at XXI Agora, Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Sunday (08/03).
This wife of Dimasta was amazed to see the transformation of the child actors who have now grown into young adults. The background of the years-long hiatus forced the production team to change the cast to maintain the physical relevance of those invisible children on the big screen.
"And now Peter Cs is represented by them who act really well," she praised enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, in order to appreciate the support of loyal fans who have been eagerly waiting for the conclusion of this saga, Manoj Punjabi has prepared a special strategy. The fifty-four-year-old man deliberately targeted West Java as the exclusive initial screening location before the national release.
"And we have a sneak preview on the 13th and 14th in Bandung because Risa's hometown is in Bandung, so we have to connect in Bandung," he revealed.
The enthusiasm of the online community has become the main fuel that ignites the producer's confidence. Rather than worrying about the long queues during the holiday season, the big boss of MD Pictures chooses to remain calm and very optimistic.
"No, I feel that the strategy for this Danur is already a big IP. This is the last franchise of the last sequel of Danur," he stated clearly.
The story of Danur: The Last Chapter focuses on Risa (Prilly Latuconsina) who is once again drawn into the mystical realm after her sister, Riri (Zee Asadel), experiences ghostly terror following her engagement. Risa suspects that Peter and his friends are trying to give her an important warning so that she is prepared to face a tremendous threat from the shadow of Asih.
Directed beautifully by Awi Suryadi, this emotional horror offering is ready to present a very thrilling conclusion to the story for adrenaline enthusiasts. This film from MD Pictures is officially scheduled to dominate all CINEMA 21 theaters coinciding with the long holiday of Eid on March 18, 2026.
