Delayed for 2 Years, 'KKN DI DESA PENARI' Finally Released in Theaters on April 30, 2022!

Kapanlagi.com - One of the most highly anticipated Indonesian films of 2022 for film lovers is KKN DI DESA PENARI. As is known, the film produced by MD Pictures originated from a viral thread on Twitter created by a user named Simpleman.

This horror film based on a true story then made MD Pictures interested in making it into a feature film. After contacting the thread creator and getting the green light, Manoj Punjabi, the founder of MD Pictures, gathered his team to bring the story to the big screen.

KKN DI DESA PENARI was originally scheduled for release in 2020. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced the screening of this film directed by Awi Suryadi to be postponed. And at the beginning of 2022, after a 2-year wait, film lovers finally received good news because KKN DI DESA PENARI was going to be shown in February 2022, before being postponed again.

"It was supposed to be released in 2020, but we all know that the pandemic caused a delay, then we got a strategy to release it in February because of the fans' demand to watch it quickly, so we also took the right date, but the situation didn't allow it. Imagine if I released it in February, PPKM level 3, it would definitely have an effect," said Manoj Punjabi in an exclusive interview with the KapanLagi.com team on Monday (28/3).

After being delayed again, good news has arrived. KKN IN THE DANCER VILLAGE will officially be screened in theaters on April 30, 2022, precisely 2 days before Eid. What is the reason?

"Well, I believe the situation will improve during Eid. I could also release it during a month with less competition, but there are many good films during Eid, including 3 good national films and DOCTOR STRANGE. So, I feel like I can't delay it anymore, and this is the decision to release it during Eid, that's it," Manoj concluded.

KKN DI DESA PENARI will be directed by Awi Suryadi who has previously worked on other hit films, such as some of the DANUR franchise which are also produced by MD Pictures. So from the direction side, it can be ensured that this film will not disappoint in the future.
