Entering the Fourth Year in Indonesia, WeTV Streaming Service Will Boost Production of Local Star-Studded Series!

Kapanlagi.com - Without realizing it, the Chinese-based streaming service WeTV has been present in the Indonesian entertainment industry for almost four years. Starting from trial and error, the local series titles released have garnered public appreciation.

In 2024, WeTV will present more series created by local talents. The production process has actually been ongoing since September of this year so that it can be watched next year.

"We have been in Indonesia for almost four years. In the past three years, we have been very productive in producing series in Indonesia, and during that time, we have learned a lot. Next year, we will boost our production," said Lesley Simpson, the country head of WeTV Indonesia, in a press conference in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Friday (29/9/2023).

1. Open Job Opportunities During a Pandemic

In the first year in Indonesia, WeTV tried to revive production enthusiasm amid the pandemic. In the second year, their name skyrocketed with popular series both domestically and internationally. Entering the third year, they focused on making improvements to be implemented.

"The first year was very difficult because of the pandemic. In the end, we carried out production to support the industry by opening job opportunities. There were many trends in the second year based on the lessons learned from the first year's data. In the third year, we learned even more and during production, we made many script improvements, raising its quality so that the production became better," explained Lesley.

2. Star-Studded Series

In the event titled WeTV Always More 2024, six series that have been, will be, and are soon to be produced were announced. The series from various production houses are starred by top actors and actresses in Indonesia.

Take for example the series KAWIN TANGAN produced by MD Entertainment, which features Reza Rahadian and Mikha Tambayong. Then there is MAIN API starring Luna Maya and Darius Sinathrya. And also HARUS KAWIN, which is enlivened by Junior Roberts, Haico Van Der Veken, Angela Gilsha, and other famous names.
